How to Get Involved

As a grassroots movement, we are focused on finding ways for contributors to do what they do best, fuel their passion, and meet their needs. Volunteering may involve as much or as little as you’re able, in person or virtual. We respect radical acts of liberation in all forms, from protest to feeding the community; creating art to running for public office.

Provide Resources on Discord

The DecolonizeOR Discord server includes “Know Your Rights”, “barter board”, and other resource sharing threads. Follow the link below to share your experience!

Have a story to share?

The newsletter relies on historical content shared by the community, with a focus on history that isn’t taught in most schools which disrupts the dominant narratives of White Supremacy and Settler Colonialism. These can be stories of individual or community accomplishment, stories of hardships and victories, which challenge the White Supremacist narrative of American Exceptionalism. Contact the administrator below to recommend a story for a future newsletter.

Invite Friends and Family

A great way to support the DecolonizeOR effort is to invite friends and family to join the conversation, sign up for the newsletter, and discuss the weekly questions. Thoughtful engagement is a critical part of building the movement. Grow the community by sharing and discussing what Decolonizing Oregon could look like!
